The International Foundation Diploma (IFD) is a one-year pre-university programme designed for domestic and international students preparing to study undergraduate business degrees in the UK, France or internationally. You will build essential academic skills in Business & Management, Economics & Finance, English for Academic Purposes and Critical Thinking & Research.

This module supports students in strengthening everyday English communication skills. Focusing on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency, it helps learners improve their reading, writing, listening, and speaking in real-world and general academic contexts. Ideal for building confidence before progressing to more advanced studies.

This module equips students with the academic English skills needed for success at university. It focuses on essay writing, academic reading, note-taking, referencing, and presentation skills. Learners develop critical thinking, formal writing techniques, and the ability to understand and produce academic texts—essential for higher education in English-speaking environments.

This module develops core mathematical skills essential for university-level study, particularly in business, computing, and science-related fields. Students learn to apply algebra, statistics, geometry, and data analysis to real-world problems, building a strong foundation in mathematical reasoning and problem-solving required for academic success.

This module prepares students for the academic demands of university life by developing essential research, time management, and independent study skills. Learners gain experience in sourcing credible information, referencing correctly, planning assignments, and presenting findings.

This module offers a broad understanding of global business practices, focusing on the structure, objectives, and impact of multinational organisations. Students explore key areas such as international marketing, operations, finance, and strategy, while developing critical thinking around leadership, culture, ethics, and the global business environment. Real-world case studies and practical applications prepare learners for further study or careers in international business and management.

This module provides a strong foundation in both microeconomic and macroeconomic theory. Students explore core concepts such as supply and demand, market behavior, and the price system, while critically evaluating economic arguments and policies. Learners also develop the ability to apply analytical models to real-world macroeconomic issues, preparing them for further study in economics, business, or finance.

This unit explores how the world of the 21st century is underpinned by computing technology and how it works, together with the impacts on society and the importance of cyber security.

3 Month Study Experience in Paris

After six enriching months in London, your international foundation journey will continue in Paris — one of the world’s most iconic and culturally vibrant cities. For three months, you’ll study and live in the French capital, gaining exposure to a new academic environment while deepening your understanding of European culture and global perspectives.

What to Expect in Paris:

  • Academic Continuity: Continue your foundation studies with a focus on language development, critical thinking, and preparation for university-level coursework — all tailored to an international curriculum.

Entry requirements

To join our International Foundation Programme (Level 3), applicants must have completed secondary education with qualifications equivalent to GCSEs and demonstrate English proficiency.

A GCSE/IGCSE ‘O’ Levels or an equivalent qualification in their own country and passed 5 subjects with minimum grades of ‘C’, ‘4’ or equivalent* in each. These should include Mathematics and English.

A valid score of 4.5 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination or equivalent for students whose first language is not English. Alternatively, students can take the our free Education Standard English Placement Test.
