    Programme Overview

    The MBA with Sustainability at King Stage is a career-focused, blended learning programme designed for professionals aiming to lead sustainable transformation in business. Delivered in three stages, the course begins with a Professional Certificate in Sustainability, covering topics such as ESG strategy, net-zero business models, circular economy, and sustainability reporting. 

    This is followed by a Level 7 Diploma in Business Management, exploring leadership, finance, marketing, and operations. The final stage, an MBA Top-Up from Cardiff Metropolitan Business School, involves a dissertation in sustainability.

    This programme is inclusive of a 1-month Seminar in Paris which blends academic learning, business visits, and cultural activities, focusing on sustainable business practices. Students will gain hands-on experience working on real-world sustainability projects with leading companies, while exploring Paris’ iconic landmarks and vibrant culture.

    With a flexible blend of online learning and on-campus lectures, the programme offers both academic excellence and practical experience. Students also complete a sustainability-focused professional placement, gaining industry insight and enhancing their employability.

    This module provides learners with a critical understanding of international marketing strategy, focusing on global operations and market dynamics. Students will explore how organisations tailor their marketing strategies to meet the diverse needs of both domestic and international markets, taking into account cultural, economic, and regulatory factors. Key concepts such as market segmentation, positioning, branding, pricing, and distribution strategies will be examined in depth. Additionally, the module will highlight the role of digital tools in reaching global audiences and crafting effective international marketing campaigns. Upon completion, students will be equipped to design and implement marketing strategies that align with an organisation’s objectives both domestically and globally.

    This module examines how businesses manage financial resources to support strategic decision-making, with a particular focus on incorporating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors into financial planning. Students will gain a solid understanding of financial accountability, control, and planning, while also learning how to integrate ESG criteria into financial analysis and decision-making. By the end of the module, students will be equipped with the skills to analyse financial data, assess the financial implications of ESG initiatives, and make informed, sustainable business decisions at a corporate level.

This module delves into the interconnected pillars of leadership, strategic human resource management (HRM), and change management, providing students with the tools to guide organisations through transformation and uncertainty.

With a focus on practical tools and real-world application, students will learn how to manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification.

    The module also emphasises the importance of leadership, communication, and ethics in successful project delivery. It integrates the use of project management software and knowledge management systems to support efficient planning, execution, and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

    • Apply key project management tools and techniques for planning, resourcing, budgeting, monitoring, and ensuring quality control.

    This module examines the dynamic relationship between entrepreneurship, innovation, and social impact. Students will explore how entrepreneurial thinking can address real-world challenges and create sustainable value, both economically and socially, whether in a startup or within an established organisation.

    Focusing on social entrepreneurship, the module demonstrates how innovation can drive not just profit but also purpose. Students will analyse the opportunities, risks, and strategies involved in building and managing mission-driven enterprises.

    • Develop core entrepreneurial skills with a focus on social impact and sustainability.

    • Understand the theories and practical applications of disruptive and social innovation.

    • Learn how to launch and manage a purpose-driven enterprise, from conception to execution.

    • Create a compelling business plan and master the art of pitching to investors and stakeholders.

    The Professional Certificate in Sustainable Business equips students with practical experience in applying sustainability principles to real-world business challenges. Through a project-based collaboration with industry partners, students address key issues such as resource management, environmental impact, and social responsibility. This hands-on approach enhances their understanding of sustainable business practices, develops leadership skills, and enables them to contribute to meaningful organisational change. Upon completion, students receive a formal certificate, strengthening their credentials as sustainability-focused professionals.

    The Research Methods module introduces research practices relevant to business and management. Upon successful completion, students progress to the Dissertation stage of the MBA.

    By the end of the module, students will be able to interpret existing research, understand various research designs, and critically evaluate quantitative and qualitative methods. They will develop skills in sourcing and referencing information, formulating research questions, and applying appropriate methodologies. The module also covers data collection, analysis, and statistical interpretation, enabling students to produce a well-structured Research Proposal.

    Following this, the Dissertation provides an opportunity for in-depth study on a management-related topic. Students will critically engage with relevant theories, conduct empirical research, and apply their findings to real-world business challenges, drawing conclusions that support strategic decision-making.

    After completion of the dissertation, the student should be able to:

    • Formulate research questions at a level appropriate for a masters.
    • Critically review the relevant literature.
    • Select the most appropriate methodology for the collection of data, justifying that choice.
    • Apply that methodology to collect primary or secondary data.
    • Select a method of analysis appropriate to their research question, within the context of what is commensurate to master’s level.
    • Present the results in a manner that is clear and comprehensive.
    • Draw conclusions about the results for the conduct of management.

    Seminar in Paris


    Students will take part in a one-month seminar in Paris, a global business hub for sustainability. The programme below combines intensive learning with exclusive business visits, allowing students to explore how leading companies integrate sustainability into their operations and address real-world challenges. This experience offers valuable networking opportunities and exposure to industry leaders.

    • Week 1 focuses on sustainability fundamentals, with a visit to companies such as L’Oréal and a cultural tour including the Eiffel Tower and Seine River cruise.

    • Week 2 centres on ESG and growth, featuring visits to local urban projects, along with a collaborative sustainability challenge.

    • Week 3 highlights social innovation and leadership, with insights and a sustainable wine tasting at Le Cordon Bleu.

    • Week 4 explores digital tools and change, through visits to firms like BlaBlaCar, and EDF, culminating in final project presentations.

    Cultural highlights include eco-tours, the Louvre, and a farewell dinner.

    WORK PLACEMENT

    During your programme, you will engage in a work placement where you will apply your sustainability knowledge to real-world challenges. This opportunity allows you to directly contribute to the organisation’s sustainability efforts.

    Entry requirements

    At King Stage, we seek individuals with intellectual curiosity and a strong desire to contribute. To ensure your success with us, here are the following entry criteria we look at:

    An honours degree in a relevant subject area from a UK university or equivalent award from a non-UK university.

    An honours degree in a non-relevant subject area from a UK university or equivalent award from a non-UK university, together with three years’ management experience in a relevant area.

     Five years’ management experience in a relevant industry or area.
    AND
    • An IELTS score of 6.5 or above for students who do not hold a degree-level qualification wholly taught and examined in English.
